| In der Landwirtschaft herrscht ein zunehmendes Spannungsfeld zwischen ökologischen und ökonomischen Vorgaben. Ein innovativer Ansatz, der sowohl Anforderungen an eine nachhaltige Bewirtschaftung wie auch an wettbewerbsfähige Produktion erfüllen kann, ist die Agroforstwirtschaft. Da es in der Schweiz noch keine Agroforstbetriebe gibt, haben wir in Deutschland anhand einer Fallstudie untersucht, wie in der Praxis die Wirtschaftlichkeit eines Agroforstsystems berechnet werden kann. | The organic market has grown exponentially in Europe during the last ten years. However, the organic fruit industry has shown the lowest growth rates (1-5% market share) compared to other commodities. One major reason is the high production risk due to high disease and pest pressure in humid climates. Key pests and diseases in apple and pear include scab, sooty blotch, and fire blight as well as rosy apple aphid, pear sucker, and codling moth. In cherry, damages due to brown rot (Monilinia) and the cherry fruit fly make organic production almost unfeasible. | In organic apple production systems, orchard floor management is of prime importance because it determines weed management and soil fertility. In this experiment, we evaluated the response of the cultivar Pacific Gala on three rootstocks of different vigor: M.9 NAKB 337, M.9 RN 29, and Supporter 4 (in respective order of vigor from dwarfing to semivigorous). The rootstocks were also evaluated for the response to three orchard floor management systems (OFMSs): mulching using alfalfa hay, flame burning, and shallow strip tillage using the Swiss sandwich system (SSS). The experiment was conducted in an experimental orchard planted in 2000. |

| Das Merkblatt zeigt auf 32 Seiten mit rund 100 Bildern die wichtigen Krankheiten und Schädlinge des Biokernobstbaus. Zu jeder Krankheit, jedem Schädling hat es ein Bild sowie die Unterkapitel Wie erkennen?, Wichtig zu wissen, Wie vorbeugen?, Wie direkt bekämpfen? Ein übersichtlicher Terminplan zeigt, wann bei welchem Schädling welche Massnahme vorzusehen ist. Im Kapitel Applikationstechnik wird die korrekte Anwendung der Pflanzenschutzmittel vermittelt. Abgerundet wird das Merkblatt mit einer Tabelle, worin die bewilligten Wirkstoffe und Bekämpfungsmethoden kurz beschrieben sind. |

Pour chaque maladie et chaque ravageur, la fiche comprend une illustration et différents sous chapitres "Comment le reconnaître?", "Important à savoir", "Comment se prémunir?", "Comment lutter directement?". Un plan récapitulatif indique les mesures à prendre pour lutter contre un ravageur donné et à quel moment les appliquer. Le chapitre "techniques d'application" explique comment utiliser correctement un produit phytosanitaire. La fiche est complétée par un tableau décrivant brièvement les principales substances autorisées et les méthodes de lutte. |

| Die meistgenannten Erwartungen von Konsumentinnen und Konsumenten an die Qualität von Bioprodukten lassen sich wie folgt zusammenfassen: keine Pestizidrückstände, besserer Geschmack, besser für Gesundheit und Umwelt. Ein Überblick über die verfügbare Fachliteratur zeigt, dass Bioprodukte diese Erwartungen meist erfüllen. Die Frage, wie sich die gefundenen Unterschiede auf die menschliche Gesundheit auswirken, ist jedoch experimentell noch wenig erforscht. |

| Einleitung 1997 trat die Blutlaus (Eriosoma /anigerum) in der Schweiz in verschiedenen Bioobstanlagen stark auf. Die Gründe dafür liegen wahrscheinlich in der ungenügenden Parasitisierung der Blutläuse durch die Blutlauszehrwespe. Zwei kalte Winter (1995/96 und 1996/97) aber auch die kühle und nasse Witterung im Mai und Juni 1997 haben die Entwicklung der Zehrwespenpopulationen stark eingeschränkt. Die Schaden waren vielfach enorm und führten nebst Fruchtverschmutzungen zu irreversiblen Trieb- und Knospenschaden, gefolgt von Ernteausfall im Folgejahr, bis zum Absterben ganzer Baume. | In Malaysia an intensively managed high input full sun cocoa plantation can reach high yields of 1.5 to 2 t dry beans per ha. Following a high production period of 10 years the yields often decrease markedly.
